Bicyclist killed in Dania Beach hit-and-run
Detectives believe Chevrolet Impala LTZ responsible
DANIA BEACH, Fla. – Broward Sheriff's Office deputies are searching for the driver of a car that struck and killed a bicyclist in Dania Beach early Sunday morning.
BSO spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said the man, who is in his 40s, was riding his bicycle on State Road 84 approaching Ravenswood Road when he was struck from behind.
Detectives said they believe the vehicle to be a 2014 Chevrolet Impala LTZ, but they're unsure of the color.
However, detectives said the vehicle should be easy to spot as it should have extensive damage to the bumper, headlight and possibly the windshield.
There were two businesses located near the site of the crash, but employees at both companies said their surveillance video wasn't able to get a good image of the scene.
Anyone with any information about the vehicle or the driver is asked to contact the BSO at 954-764-4357.
The victim has not been identified, pending notification of next of kin.
