2 Lauderhill schools evacuated because of threat from student

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Two Lauderhill schools were evacuated Wednesday morning because of a threat from a student, police said.

A Lauderhill police spokesman said a student at Parkway Middle School made some sort of threat that prompted the evacuation.

Broward Estates Elementary School was also evacuated as a precaution.

Sky 10 was above St. George Park, where several students were standing on the baseball field.

Police conducted a thorough check of Parkway Middle School.

Students were eventually allowed back inside the schools.

Police didn't elaborate as to the threat that was made.
