Fallen power lines spark fire in Hialeah

Multiple businesses evacuated

HIALEAH, Fla. – Multiple businesses were evacuated in Hialeah Thursday morning after a fire broke out behind a building.

According to the Hialeah Fire Department, live electrical power lines fell behind a business in the area of East 47th Street and 10th Court.

The power lines sparked a brush fire that expanded toward fences that separate several businesses.

Authorities shut down four blocks in the area because of the danger of electrocution and evacuated several of the businesses.

The fire has since been put out. All evacuations were lifted, except for the building were the power lines fell behind.

No injuries were reported.
