Gunman holds up Subway in Pembroke Park

BSO: Robber tells victims, 'I won't hurt anybody'

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office is searching for an unusually kind gunman who robbed a Subway restaurant in Pembroke Park last month.

The incident happened Feb. 5 at 3930 Pembroke Road.

BSO spokeswoman Gina Carter said a man, who employees believe had a Jamaican accent, entered the restaurant and pointed a large silver handgun at those inside.

Employees said he told them, "This is a robbery. Don't nobody move."

They said he then added, "I won't hurt anybody. Can't you see my face is exposed? Just give me the money."

Carter said the gunman ordered the two customers inside to stand near the register and ordered the two employees to give him the money and then jump over the counter to join the customers.

She said he made the victims stand in a line together as he left the restaurant.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. A reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
