Man accused of pinning 2 victims against wall with minivan

Mark Haye Markeno, 29, faces 2 counts of aggravated battery

MIRAMAR, Fla. – A 29-year-old man is facing multiple charges after he pinned two victims against the wall of a convenience store with his car in Miramar, police said.

According to officers, Mark Haye Markeno had a verbal altercation with the victim, Tavares Rolle, in the area of Southwest 64th Avenue and 27th Street.

After the heated exchange, Markeno got into his minivan and backed out of the parking lot. He then stepped on the gas, pinning Rolle and an innocent bystander, Aqutavis Lanier, to the wall of the store, police said.

Rolle suffered a broken ankle and Lanier had two fractured legs.

Police said Markeno left the scene without helping the victims.

Detectives said they later met with Markeno and his attorney and claimed he felt threatened because a lot of people gathered around his minivan as he was trying to leave.

He said that he did not intend to injure anyone.

Markeno faces two counts of aggravated battery. He was ordered to be held on $7,000 bond during a hearing Wednesday.
