Woman chained grandchildren to washing machine with dog collars, deputies say

Linda Brantly released from jail on bond

ORLANDO, Fla. – A central Florida woman is facing charges after she chained her grandchildren to a washing machine with dog collars, deputies said.

Linda Brantly, 58, was charged with aggravated child abuse after the Department of Children and Families reported her, prompting an Orange County Sheriff's Office investigation.

Deputies said they found two leashes on Brantly's laundry room floor with collars that Brantly attached to the children's wrists.

According to the report, the children told deputies they had to also lift their hands in the air for a long time or lay in the plank position for 15 minutes as punishment.

DCF officials said Brantly is the grandmother of the children. They have since been placed in foster care.

Brantly was released from jail on bond Thursday night.
