SUV stuck in hole after ground opens up

WESTON, Fla. – A sinkhole caused headaches in a Weston neighborhood Sunday morning after an 8-inch water main broke at about 1 a.m. Sunday, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.

An SUV was stuck in the hole on Columbia Street in the Country Isles neighborhood, but crews were able to pull the car out without severe damage.

Several homes were evacuated.

Deputies said water reached the front doors of up to 15 homes.

Water was shut off in the neighborhood as crews worked to prepare the broken line.
