Al Blades Jr. flashes 'U' sign while standing on FSU logo

Son of Hurricanes great posts picture on Twitter

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – The son of a former University of Miami football star flashed the team's trademark "U" symbol while standing on the football field at Florida State University.

Al Blades Jr. posted the picture on his Twitter page after previously writing that it's "a little disrespectful" and "would have FSU fans upset."

His post caught the attention of sophomore FSU defensive back Jalen Ramsey, who started all 14 games for the Seminoles during their 13-1 campaign last season.

"That'll be the last time you ever do that on our field," Ramsey said Monday on Twitter. "I promise you that lil buddy!"

Ramsey then pointed out that he intercepted the game-sealing pass against the Hurricanes in last year's 30-26 victory for FSU.

"Lol I'll give it to the kid tho," Ramsey wrote. "After I caught the game-winning pick, I threw up the U too in front of (their) fans."

Ramsey also posted a video of the game-changing play.

FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher is 5-0 against the Hurricanes.

Blades, a high school freshman, is the son of standout safety Al Blades, who played for the Hurricanes from 1997-2000.

The Seminoles and Hurricanes meet Oct. 10 in Tallahassee.
