Alexandra Martorano arrested in Florida Keys on drug charges

KEY WEST, Fla. – A Coral Springs woman faces numerous drug charges after a traffic stop Tuesday in the Florida Keys.

Deputy Gil Gonzalez was on patrol at mile marker 103 about 1:45 a.m. when he spotted a car with a partially obscured license plate and a tag light out, Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Becky Herrin said.

After conducting a traffic stop, Gonzalez noticed that the passenger, Alexandra Martorano, 29, appeared very nervous and had shaking hands, Herrin said. He also smelled marijuana coming from the car's windows as he spoke to Martorano and the driver, Herrin said.

Martorano had a bag of cocaine in her bra, and various pills and drug paraphernalia were found inside the car, Herrin said.

Martorano took responsibility for all of the illegal substances in the car, Herrin said. She was arrested on drug charges, including cocaine possession, marijuana possession and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
