2 arrested in fatal shooting of Fort Lauderdale woman

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Fort Lauderdale police have arrested two suspects believed to be responsible for the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old woman.

Haveitz Beaubrun, 19 is charged with first-degree murder and Martelli Metellus, 24, is charged with one count of accessory to first-degree murder after the fact.

Police said the U.S. Marshals South Florida Fugitive Task Force helped find the men in Riviera Beach on April 11.

According to officers, Lakendra Jones was found shot Feb. 1 outside her home on Northwest Third Avenue. She was taken to Broward Health Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
