Reports: Sofia Vergara's ex sues over embryos

Actress and Nick Loeb broke up in 2014

Sofia Vergara, one of the stars of the Emmy-winning sitcom "Modern Family," finds herself in an unusual lawsuit involving frozen embryos.

The actress' ex-fiancé, Nick Loeb, is reportedly suing her over two embryos the couple created together at a fertility clinic.

According to the lawsuit, a man believe to be Loeb wants to preserve both female embryos, but the defendant, said to be Vergara, wants them destroyed.

Vergara, 42, and Loeb, 39, were engaged for almost two years but broke up in 2014.

Legal experts say the case is important because it brings fundamental questions about embryos.
There's a good chance the case could be hung up in court for multiple years.

The actress has a son from a previous relationship and his currently engaged to "True Blood" actor Joe Manganiello.
