Marie Joseph faces battery charge

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A Broward County teacher was arrested after getting into an altercation with her significant other, police said.

Marie Joseph appeared in court Tuesday, where a judge ordered her to be held in jail in lieu of $1,000 bond.

According to police, Joseph went to pick up her child and got into an altercation with a man. Police said the child got scratched during the incident.

Joseph was arrested on a battery charge.

A Broward County school district spokeswoman said Joseph works as a temporary and substitute teacher at the Hallandale Adult Community Center.

Details of the arrest were not immediately available, but Local 10 News has requested the arrest report.
