Police searching for missing schizophrenic woman

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – Pembroke Pines police are searching for a missing 27-year-old woman who is diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Authorities say Stefanie Jackson was last seen by a neighbor walking near her home Monday in the 9400 block of NW 24 Place in Pembroke Pines at around 2:40 p.m.

Jackson has not taken her medication for schizophrenia, which may cause auditory hallucinations. Police say she has been suicidal in the past but is not known to be violent.

Police are asking the public to help find Jackson. She is 5 feet tall, 240 pounds and was last seen wearing khaki ankle length pants, a pink short sleeve collared shirt and black flip flops. She may also be carrying a blue backpack.

Jackson has scars on her left arm, chest and left thigh.
