Surveillance video released in Molotov cocktail attack

Police say someone opened fire, threw Molotov cocktails at 3 homes in Miami-Dade County

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police have released surveillance video in which Molotov cocktails were thrown into three Miami-Dade County homes.

Miami-Dade police said the incident occurred April 29.

Investigators said officers arrived at 1171 NW 141st St. to a report of shots being fired. When they arrived, residents told them someone in an unknown vehicle had opened fire at the home and then thrown what appeared to be a Molotov cocktail, a type of explosive.

Shortly after, a second call came in and police arrived to 1415 NE 147th St. to find that shots had been fired and a Molotov cocktail had been thrown at the home as well.

Finally, a residential fire was reported at 1160 NW 141st St., in the same neighborhood as the first shooting. Police said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue extinguished the fire, caused by a Molotov cocktail.

No injuries were reported, but one of the families has since moved out.

Police continue to investigate.
