MIAMI – Two people were injured in an accident at the Brickell City Centre construction site Friday morning.
Miami Department of Fire-Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll told Local 10 News that two workers were injured after a support beam that was being hoisted up fell.
Carroll said a worker on the second floor was injured while trying to get out of the way of the beam.
"A second person was injured when his safety line was snagged by the falling beam," Carroll said.
Both men had their safety equipment on and were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Brickell City Centre is a shopping and residential development being built at 800 S. Miami Ave.
