Tractor-trailer catches fire on Florida's Turnpike

Driver escapes unharmed

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – A tractor-trailer caught fire early Wednesday afternoon on the Florida's Turnpike in Broward County.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said the cab of the tractor-trailer caught fire while traveling northbound at mile marker 60, between Sunrise Boulevard and Commercial Boulevard.

The center and right lanes were blocked shortly before 1 p.m.

Troopers said the driver escaped from the vehicle unharmed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
