HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A woman from Hollywood is facing attempted murder charges after repeatedly stabbing a woman inside her home last week, police said.
According to police, Donna Faye Pectol, 56, stabbed a woman in the neck and abdomen on June 10.
Witnesses told police that the door of the home was open when they heard someone screaming for help.
The witnesses said they peered in the home, but Pectol emerged from the kitchen, said "Nothing's going on here," shut the door and locked it.
Witnesses continued to hear the victim scream and said they saw the silhouette of Pectol's arm going up and down in a stabbing motion, and saw her kicking.
Police said one witness was able to get inside the home and saw the victim on the ground.
The witness said Pectol emerged from a bedroom and told her "You're next."
The witness was able to subdue Pectol until police arrived.
A second witness ran to get a neighbor who is a registered nurse. Police said the nurse rendered first aid to the victim until officers arrived.
The victim was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital. She suffered a stab wound to the neck and abdomen, along with several defensive wounds on her forearms and hands.
Several bloody knives, some with the handles broken off, were found in the kitchen and taken in as evidence.
The relationship between the victim and Pectol is unclear.
