Rhamses Silva, 23, sold $320 worth of marijuana to undercover detectives, deputies say

KEY WEST, Fla. – A 23-year-old man from Miami is facing charges after posting marijuana for sale on Craigslist, Monroe County sheriff's deputies said.

Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Becky Herrin said Rhamses Silva posted an advertisement on Craigslist offering "medicinal high grade top shelf" marijuana, accompanied by a photo of a green leafy substance that appeared to be cannabis.

Herrin said deputies emailed Silva, asking if he would meet them in Monroe County to conduct a sale.

Herrin said Silva agreed to meet in the parking lot of a convenience store at the 106.5 mile marker and sell undercover deputies an ounce of marijuana for $320.

Detectives met with Silva just after noon Tuesday, when they handed over the cash for the drugs.

Herrin said more marijuana was found in Silva's car, as well as one Adderall pill and various items of drug paraphernalia.

Silva was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, use of a cellphone to facilitate a felony and possession of drug paraphernalia.
