MARATHON, Fla. – Two 18-year-old men from Marathon were arrested Monday for damaging mailboxes throughout Duck Key last month, Monroe County Sheriff's Office deputies said.

According to deputies, at least 17 mailboxes were damaged June 30 by someone who had struck them with a baseball bat.

Surveillance video led to the identification of the truck involved and the driver of the truck, identified as Mark Keller.

Detectives said Keller was driving while Roberto Garcia swung the bat at the mailboxes.

Deputies said three other boys, all of whom are 17 years old, were passengers in the truck when the crimes took place.

Keller and Garcia face a charge of criminal mischief in reference to one of the damaged mailboxes.

Deputies said more charges are pending as detectives contact additional victims.
