According to an arrest report, the children's mother left the kids in Crews' care Saturday morning while she was at work.

A neighbor called 911 after the children, whose ages have not been released, approached her looking for help to find their mother. The woman told deputies that the kids had been playing outside unsupervised for about two hours before they approached her.

Deputies said the woman walked to the children's home, and noticed that the front door had been left ajar. She looked inside but did not see anyone, so she called 911.

Detectives from the Broward Sheriff's Office Child Protective Investigation Sections were called to the home. After numerous attempts, detectives were able to locate the children's mother, who said she had left the children with Crews when she left for work just before 3:30 a.m.  Saturday. She said she did not know that Crews had left her children unattended.

Detectives said Crews admitted to abandoning the kids, and said he had left to take his children to a game.

The relationship between Crews and the children has not been released.
