According to an arrest report, Flowers and his wife realized that their son was not inside their home, and one of their cars was missing.

Police said Flowers and his wife drove to their son's girlfriend's apartment and found their son in their car in the parking lot.

Police said Flowers grabbed the boy by his upper body as he got out of the car and struck him one time of the right side of his head with an open hand.

According to the report, the father and son continued arguing before Flowers struck his son again on the head, this time causing the boy to lose consciousness.

Police said the victim's mother tried to revive her son for about 10 minutes before taking him to a family member's home.

Police said the boy's condition failed to improve so the mother took him to a nearby hospital for treatment and called the police.

According to the report, the boy did not show signs of permanent damage and had no bruising on his body.

Police said Flowers agreed to speak with detectives about the incident and was taken into custody.
