Police search for thieves who robbed man of $40,000

Robbers believed to live in Miami-Dade, Broward County area

The Palm Springs Police Department released a surveillance image of one of two people believed to be involved in an armed kidnapping/robbery.

PALM SPRINGS, Fla. – The Palm Springs Police Department is searching for two thieves who kidnapped a Dania Beach man and robbed him of about $40,000.

The incident was reported about 9 p.m. Aug. 7 at an Extra Storage Space located at 3599 S. Congress Ave. in Palm Springs.

Police said the victim was carjacked and abducted by two people in Deerfield Beach, who drove him to the business and forced him at gunpoint to remove about $40,000 in cash from his storage unit.

The victim was later dropped off at an unknown location in Broward County.

Police believe the thieves may reside in either Miami-Dade or Broward County.
