The theft was caught on surveillance video at 24/7 Liquors on Hallandale Beach Boulevard.

In the video, a woman and girl can be seen walking along an aisle when the woman points at a bottle and walks away, leaving the girl alone. The girl then grabs the bottle, puts it behind her back and leaves the store.

Paul Moustatsos, owner of 24/7 Liquors, said he believes that the woman put the girl, who doesn't appear to be older than 5, up to it.

"That's what I'm worried about, the child," he told Local 10 News reporter Jenise Fernandez. "(She is) a 5-year-old child and (she) shouldn't be taught to do that."

The video shows the girl running to a car, hiding the bottle from customers entering the store. The woman leaves the store a few minutes later.

"It's very bad parenting, and she should get punished for that," Moustatsos said.

Moustatsos said he believes, based on what he saw in the video, that the girl has done it before.

"It didn't look like it was her first time doing it," he said.

The bottle of liquor was worth $27.
