Crook throws cement bumper through glass door of Dania Beach bar, steals register
Detectives believe burglar, accomplice responsible for at least 30 similar crimes since May
DANIA BEACH, Fla. – Detectives believe two men who threw a cement parking bumper through the glass door of a Dania Beach sports bar to burglarize the place are responsible for at least 30 similar crimes throughout Broward County since May.
The burglary at Andy's Sports Bar occurred about 5:40 a.m. July 27.
Surveillance video shows a man crawling through the opening in the door, jumping over the counter and stealing the cash register. He was wearing baggy lime-green shorts, a white T-shirt and a Miami Heat hat.
Witnesses told detectives that the man and an accomplice got away in a silver Chevrolet Malibu.
BSO spokeswoman Dani Moschella said the men have burglarized restaurants, dollar stores, bakeries and other businesses throughout the county since May. Moschella said they typically strike in the early morning hours when the businesses are closed. She said they have been seen in various vehicles, including the Malibu and a white Chrysler Pacifica.
Anyone with information about any of the burglaries is asked to call the BSO or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
