2 men attach credit card skimmer to ATM in Cooper City

Incident reported Thursday at Bank of America

COOPER CITY, Fla. ā€“ Broward Sheriff's Office detectives are searching for two men who attached a credit card skimmer to an ATM last week at a Bank of America branch in Cooper City.

Surveillance video shows one of the crooks placing the device on the machine at about 6:45 a.m. Thursday at 5504 S. Flamingo Road.

The video then shows a second man approaching the ATM to verify that the skimmer was installed correctly.

The man who installed the skimmer is described as a white man in his 20s, with short hair and no facial hair. He was wearing a blue baseball cap with no logos, dark sunglasses and a dark-colored T-shirt. The second man is described as a white man, possibly in his 20s. He had short hair and a short beard. He was wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses and a blue T-shirt.

Anyone with information about the identities of the men is asked to call Detective Glenn Gainey at 954-435-2200, ext. 272. Tips can also be reported anonymously to Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. A reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
