Security guard shot at Fort Lauderdale party identified
Ralph Bouzi, 26, taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A security guard who was shot at a residential complex in Fort Lauderdale over the weekend has been identified by police as Ralph Bouzi, 26, of Plantation.
Police said Bouzi and the accused gunman, James McFadden, 26, were hospitalized after the shooting Saturday night in the 500 block of Northwest First Avenue. It's unclear if they have been released from the hospital.
According to witnesses, McFadden shot Bouzi during an altercation at a pool party.
Police said McFadden ran off after the shooting and was found in an alley adjacent to the location of the party.
Police said McFadden was involved in a confrontation with officers, who said they were forced to fire on McFadden.
McFadden and Bouzi were taken to Broward Health Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The officer involved in the shooting was not hurt.
