David Beckham reportedly eyeing Wayne Rooney to join MLS team in Miami
Report: Rooney would lead the team as captain
MIAMI – David Beckham reportedly wants Manchester United star Wayne Rooney to join his Major League Soccer team in Miami.
Several media outlets, including ESPN, are reporting that Beckham is eyeing the Three Lions skipper to lead his team as captain in 2018.
Rooney reportedly would be coming to the end of his United contract around that time and is interested in moving to the United States with his family.
There's no official word yet from Beckham or Rooney.
Beckham is planning on building a stadium for his MLS team on the old Orange Bowl site next to Marlins Park.
