Convicted felon accused of bringing gun into Pompano Beach Chuck E. Cheese's
Cleomin Paul, 19, arrested following fight at arcade
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A 19-year-old convicted felon was arrested Sunday after he got into a fight at a Chuck E. Cheese's restaurant in Pompano Beach, deputies said.
Cleomin Paul faces multiple charges, including battery on a law enforcement officer, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and resisting arrest.
According to an arrest report, Paul was involved in a fight with several people at the arcade when authorities were called.
Deputies said Paul struck one deputy in the chest with both his hands in an attempt to get away.
Authorities said Paul resisted arrest by refusing to put his hands behind his back while two deputies tried to detain him.
As Paul was being taken into custody, deputies saw that he had a firearm in his waistband, the report said.
According to deputies, Paul gave them a false date of birth and misspelled his name while they were questioning him.
A fingerprint identification scanner revealed Paul's identity and a teletype check showed that he had previously been convicted of burglary.
