69-yard punt return for TD helped Dolphins defeat Redskins in opening week of NFL season

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry is recognized as AFC special teams player of the week for his game-winning 69-yard punt return for a touchdown.

DAVIE, Fla. – Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry was named AFC special teams player of the week Wednesday.

Landry's 69-yard punt return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter of Miami's game at the Washington Redskins lifted the Dolphins to a 17-10 victory in the opening week of the NFL season.

It was the first punt return for a touchdown by a Dolphins player since Marcu Thigpen returned a punt 72 yards for a touchdown against the Houston Texans in 2012.

Landry also tied a career high with eight receptions for 53 yards.

He was also recognized as specials teams player of the month in October 2014.
