DCF investigating after toddler left in car at Bayside

No arrests made

MIAMI – The Department of Children and Families is investigating after a 2-year-old was left inside a car Thursday in the Bayside parking garage.

Police said the toddler's babysitter forgot the child. The child was alone for less than 30 minutes.

Police said the babysitter and parents were located quickly and no charges were filed.

The toddler was not injured and was turned over to the parents, police said.

Despite the fact that no arrests were made, DCF officials said they now have an open case on the incident.

The identities of the child, the parents and the babysitter were not immediately released.
