BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – A man who was struck and killed by a cement truck Thursday morning has been identified as 68-year-old Steven Lazo of Fort Lauderdale.

The incident was reported just after 11 a.m. at the intersection of State Road 7 and Davie Boulevard.

Broward sheriff’s detectives said Lazo was walking east on Davie Boulevard with his bicycle. As the light turned green, the truck made a right to head south at the intersection and struck Lazo as he walked across.

Lazo was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, Jose Munar, 50, remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Munar will not face charges in Lazo's death, although the investigation into the crash is ongoing, detectives said.
