Small fire prompts evacuation at Hollywood Pavilion

9 taken to hospital as precaution

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A number of patients were evacuated from a nursing home and rehabilitation facility at the Hollywood Pavilion Sunday morning after a small fire in the laundry room.

Local 10 News arrived at the scene, 1200 N. 35th Ave., shortly before 9 a.m. to find fire trucks and police cars parked outside building.

A Hollywood fire-rescue battalion chief said the fire was quickly extinguished.

Nine people, including two employees, were taken to a hospital as a precaution, but no serious injuries were reported.
