2 men rob TD Bank branch in Weston

FBI investigates reports of shots fired in area after robbery

WESTON, Fla. – The FBI is investigating a robbery that was reported Monday morning at a TD Bank branch in Weston.

The robbery was reported shortly after 10 a.m. at the bank at 4475 Weston Road.

Agents said two men, wearing dark hoodies to disguise their identities, demanded money from a teller. A surveillance photo from inside the bank shows one of the robbers hopping over the counter and taking a stack of money out of the hands of the employee.

Authorities did not say how much money was taken.

Residents in the area told Local10 News ]that they were shocked because the neighborhood is known to be safe.

"I leave my doors and my windows opened when I go into the bank. Not too many cities where you can say that," Doug Cann said.

The robbers left in a black four-door sedan. Investigators are looking into reports that shots were fired in the area after the robbery.

Agents said no shots were fired inside the bank and no injuries were reported.

A manager at a nearby Domino's Pizza said authorities asked to see the restaurant's surveillance cameras in hopes of getting more images of the robbers.

Anyone with information about the identity of the robbers is asked to call the FBI at 754-703-2000 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
