Man bitten by dog in Homestead airlifted to hospital

Neighbor says same dog has attacked before

HOMESTEAD, Fla. ā€“ A man was airlifted to a hospital Monday afternoon after he was bitten by a dog in Homestead.

The incident was reported at a home at 520 NW 12th St., Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said.

Sky 10 was above Kendall Regional Medical Center shortly after 5 p.m. as the victim arrived via helicopter.

A neighbor said she was walking home when she witnessed the attack.

"The dog just attacked him," Krystal Jimenez told Local 10 News.

Jimenez said the man had bite marks all over his neck.

According to the dog's owner, the man reached over her fence when the Rottweiler mix grabbed a hold of him. There were several "beware of dog" signs on the fence.

Jimenez said this isn't the first incident involving the dog.

"The lady right here, her daughter got attacked by the same dog," Jimenez said.

Local 10 News contacted Miami-Dade County Animal Services about the dog but has yet to receive a reply.
