2 men steal woman's purse at Miami gas station

Purse contained valuables in excess of $2,000

MIAMI – Miami police are searching for two men who stole a woman's purse at a BP gas station on Monday.

The incident was reported at about 5:30 p.m. at a gas station at 2465 SW 17th Ave.

Police said the thieves purchased a few items at the convenience store before getting into a white Nissan Altima that was parked at a gas pump.

Surveillance video shows the driver of the Altima pull up to another pump next to where the victim, Raquel Alvero, was pumping gas in to her vehicle.

The video shows one man get out of the car, open Alvero's passenger door and steal her purse, which contained valuable in excess of $2,000.

Miami police said the thieves left before Alvero realized what had happened.

Police describe the thieves as two black men who are between 20 and 25 years old. They both are about 6 feet tall and weigh about 180 pounds.
