Man burglarizes smoke shop in Pembroke Pines overnight

Surveillance video captures thief smashing way into store

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – Police are searching for a lone burglar who smashed his way inside a smoke shop in Pembroke Pines overnight, taking off with the entire cash register.

Surveillance video showed the man scoping out the Holy Smokes shop at about 4:30 a.m. Monday. He then used something to shatter the front door.

Gor-d Perez manages the business at Northwest 184th Avenue and Pines Boulevard. He said the man, who appears to be wearing gloves, went straight for the cash box.

He didn't take electronics or any products, but Perez said he did cause an extensive amount of damage for a little bit of cash.

Perez said Holy Smokes has only been in business for two months.
