3 accused car burglars caught after chase in South Miami-Dade

3 men in early 20s were in white Mercedes SUV when caught

MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – Emmanuel Quetin Thomas told police that he was driving a luxury sports utility vehicle in Kendall, while serving as a look out. Two others were the ones breaking into cars not him, he said, according to police.

The accused car burglars, former students of Miami Killian and Southridge Senior High, targeted a car parked at a home near Dadeland Mall. They took a briefcase with a laptop and mail, police said.

A police officer recognized the white Mercedes Benz that Thomas was driving, and there was a chase Tuesday south of Dadeland Mall.

"The vehicle made a left turn on Southwest 82 Avenue and came to a complete stop at 98 Street," police said.

Police found the briefcase with the laptop and mail in the car that Thomas, 23, was driving.

Officers also arrested Thomas, Kionne Bell, 20, of Homestead, and Tavon Roundtree, 21, of Florida City. The three were facing burglary and grand theft charges.

On social media, the trio shared public photos showing cash, jewelry and a handgun. Bell's last update on Facebook Monday was a selfie on the driver's seat of a sports utility vehicle. The caption: "Making money feeling so Gucci."
