Hollywood police said the victims were standing in front of a Sedano's supermarket when de la Pena approached and pulled a pocket knife on them.

According to the police report, de la Pena chased one of the victims with the knife while the other victim called 911.

Police said the victim refused to give de la Pena the bicycle, so de la Pena cut the victim. Police said de la Pena then took the bike and pedaled away through the shopping plaza before dumping it on a sidewalk.

When police arrived, the victims identified their attacker from his camouflage clothing and spotted him on the other end of the plaza.

Police later found the pocket knife in the grass about 15 feet from the bike.
