Pair arrested after alleged shoplifting spree at Target

Police say women tried to steal more than $300 worth of stuff

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – A pair of teenagers was arrested Tuesday after allegedly trying to steal more than $300 worth of stuff from the Target store in Pembroke Pines.

Pembroke Pines police said a security worker at the store said he watched Johnese Fontanez, 18, and Nia Stricklen, 19, place store merchandise in their purses. That security worker said Fontanez and Stricklen walked right past the registers and did not pay for the stuff. He stopped them in the parking lot and held them until police arrived.

Police said the pair was also caught on store surveillance video, and that tape has been entered as evidence.
