Man arrested in connection with 4 North Miami armed robberies

Michael Smallwood, 20, confesses to crimes, police say


NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – Police have arrested a man who they believe is responsible for four armed robberies in North Miami.

The robberies were reported between Dec. 18 and Monday in the area of Northeast Sixth Avenue and 125th Street.

Michael Smallwood, 20, was taken into custody Thursday.

Detectives said he confessed to each robbery. Clothing worn during the robberies and a handgun were confiscated by authorities, they said.

Personal property belonging to the victims was also recovered.

No other details were immediately released about the robberies.
