Firefighters battle blaze in Little Havana

4 businesses damaged by fire

MIAMI – Crews with the Miami Department of Fire-Rescue were called to a fire inside a strip mall early Sunday morning in Little Havana.

Capt. Ignatius Carroll said the fire started about 8:30 a.m. at Southwest Eighth Street and 11th Avenue. He said it took about an hour to contain.

The fire appears to have started inside a cellphone store and then quickly spread to neighboring businesses. About four businesses were damaged.

Carroll said no one was injured.

The fire remains under investigation.
