MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – The mayor of Miami Beach took on the role of enforcer after a FedEx truck driver illegally parked on a city street.

Mayor Philip Levine posted a video of his encounter with the FedEx driver Thursday on YouTube.

"Hey, so let me ask you a question," Levine asks the driver in the cellphone video. "What's the reason why you have your FedEx trucked parked in the middle of our most busy road?"

The driver said he had to deliver a package, but the explanation wasn't good enough for Levine.

"You're going to be getting a call from our chief in about 2 seconds," Levine said.

Levine then captured the truck's license plate number.

Police later issued the driver a citation.

"The behavior of the individual in this video is not consistent with the professionalism FedEx demonstrates in safely and securely delivering millions of packages to customers every day, " FedEx spokeswoman Davina Cole said in a statement. "We take these matters very seriously and will address it with those involved."
