West Palm Beach teen accused of posing as doctor faces new charges

Malachi Love-Robinson diagnosed patient with arthritis, PBSO says

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – A South Florida teenager accused of posing as a doctor is facing additional charges.

Malachi Love-Robinson, 18, was arrested by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office on a charge of practicing medicine without a license. According to the PBSO's Facebook page, the West Palm Beach teen also faces charges of forgery and grand theft.

According to an arrest report, Love-Robinson operated the New Birth New Life Medical Center & Urgent Care office at 4700 N. Congress Ave., Suite 303. The website listed Love-Robinson as a doctor, even though he wasn't licensed and had been cited by the Florida Department of Health for practicing medicine without a license in October 2015.

Love-Robinson was arrested Tuesday after performing a physical examination on an undercover agent, the report said.

The latest charges stem from a December 2015 involving an 86-year-old woman who found Love-Robinson's medical center online. She called the center and spoke to Love-Robinson, who came to her home wearing a white lab and stethoscope, deputies said.

Love-Robinson examined her "lungs, heart and legs" before diagnosing her with arthritis and selling her natural vitamins, deputies said.

The woman told deputies that Love-Robinson returned to her home four more times to treat her, paying him thousands of dollars. She became so sick during one visit that Love-Robinson called an ambulance to her home.

Before leaving, Love-Robinson told her not to bring her purse and keys and asked her to give them to him, promising to lock her home, she told deputies.

The woman told deputies that she later went to the bank and realized she had no money in her account. She told deputies that she believes he stole her checks while she was hospitalized.

Love-Robinson was released from jail on bond Wednesday. He made a brief statement to the media Wednesday night, saying that he was "deeply saddened and a little disrespected" by the allegations, and then left without answering any questions.
