Armed robbers storm Pembroke Park pawn shop

Security guard tries to stop gunmen, who may have fired shot

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Broward Sheriff's Office detectives are searching for two armed robbers who stormed into a pawn shop and possibly fired a shot.

Deputies were called to People's Pawn and Jewelry, 2910 SW 30th Ave., in Pembroke Park. No one was injured, but investigators are combing the scene, trying to collect evidence.

An employee from Scarlett's Cabaret told Local 10 News that two men wearing ski masks and carrying guns entered the store about 12:19 p.m. after they sat in the parking lot for nearly two hours.

A valet witnessed the robbery and made the call for help. A security guard tried to stop the armed robbers from fleeing, but the gunmen managed to get away.

A witness said one of the robbers tried firing his gun, but it didn't go off.
