Calvin Hudson, 58, arrested while vacationing with wife in Key West

Calvin Hudson is accused of pulling a gun on two people while he was traveling on U.S. Highway 1 on his way to Key West.

KEY WEST, Fla. – A Kentucky man was arrested Thursday in Key West after he pointed a gun at the driver and passenger of a truck as he was driving on U.S. Highway 1, Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Becky Herrin said.

The victims were traveling in a Dot Palm landscaping truck southbound just before 10 a.m. when a white Chevrolet Silverado truck cut them off near the Bahia Honda State Park bridge. The occupants of both vehicles exchanged gestures, at which time the driver of the Silverado, later identified as Calvin Hudson, 58, of Rockfield, Kentucky, pulled out a gun and pointed it at the men in the landscaping truck, Herrin said.

The men called 911, and a deputy later spotted the Silverado near the Searstown shopping center.

Herrin said Hudson told the deputy that he and his wife, who was also in the truck, had driven to Key West for vacation. She said the gun was found in a hidden compartment under the drink holders in the center console.

Hudson was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
