Additional reward offered for information about fatal shooting of woman in NW Miami-Dade

Precious Jackson, 24, shot while standing outside home last August

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A South Florida church is offering an additional $1,000 reward for information about the fatal shooting of a woman in northwest Miami-Dade.

Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers has already offered a $3,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the death of Precious Jackson, 24, who was killed Aug. 13 in a drive-by shooting outside her home at Northwest 84th Street and 24th Avenue.

Surveillance video shows a car leaving the scene shortly after the shooting and people running after shots were fired.

Jackson's mother, Teshia Greene, told Local 10 News reporter Neki Mohan at New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church that the bullets were meant for a foster child for whom she was caring and not for her daughter.

She said Jackson was talking with friends outside her home when the car drove by. She said multiple shots were fired from the car, leaving bullet holes through parts of her home.

"No one has stepped up on behalf of her murder, and I would really like to find out who killed my daughter. I'm not going to rest until that happens," Greene said.

Greene said she is working with other mothers who lost children to violent crime to help stop the killings.

"On her way through life, you know, managing her job, doing the right thing. You know, everything that her mother taught her. That was Precious," Greene said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
