OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – Two people are in custody and two others remain at large after leading police on a chase through Broward County.

The chase began Monday afternoon on Interstate 95 after authorities pursued a car that was reported stolen in Martin County.

Sky 10 was above the chase as Broward Sheriff's Office and Florida Highway Patrol helicopters followed the car south on I-95 before it exited and pulled over inside the Cambridge Apartments, 3841 NW 21st St., in Lauderdale Lakes.

Two of the passengers took off running while the driver and another man got out of the Hyundai Sonata and jumped into a blue SUV.

Sky 10 was above the scene just before 6 p.m. as the men got out of the SUV at 4461 NW 22nd St. in Lauderhill and took off running.

The suspects took off in different directions, both hiding in the backyards of nearby homes before being taken into custody.

Lauderhill police said the driver was taken into custody by a Fort Lauderdale police officer who was assisting, while the passenger was eventually taken into custody by a Lauderhill police officer with the assistance of a K-9 unit.

Police said one of the suspects was taken to Plantation General Hospital to be treated for an unknown injury.
