Dozens without electricity after power line comes down on Collins Avenue

84 customers still affected by downed power line, FPL says

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Dozens of people are without electricity Monday after a power line came down on Collins Avenue in northeast Miami-Dade, authorities said.

A Florida Power & Light representative said the power line came down for an unknown reason just after 11:15 a.m. on 158th Street and Collins Avenue.

FPL officials said 1,000 customers were without power for a second, and after power was re-routed, 84 customers were still affected by the incident.

Workers are at the scene working to repair the downed line. Traffic is being diverted in both directions until repairs are finished.
