Armed robber targets 4 7-Elevens in Pompano Beach, deputies say

Woman seen with man during at least 1 robbery

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who they say robbed four 7-Eleven stores throughout Pompano Beach.

Deputies said the robberies were reported over the course of two weeks between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 3:45 a.m.

The first robbery was reported Feb. 23. Deputies said the man, who was armed with a handgun, robbed a 7-Eleven at 2040 NE 49th St. He used a gun the next day during a robbery at another convenience store at 14 N. Federal Highway, deputies said.

According to detectives, the robber changed his approach on Feb. 26 and turned off the power to a 7-Eleven at 2391 N. Dixie Highway before he threatened the store clerks with a machete. Deputies said a second person, possibly a woman, was involved in the robbery.

The final robbery was reported March 7 at a store at 290 Copans Road. Deputies said the man used a machete during that robbery.

Anyone with information about the identities of the man and the woman is asked to call Detective Steven Hoover at 954-321-4209 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. A reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
