MIAMI – A man has been sentenced to life in prison for beating a Miami man to death with a baseball bat in 1984.
Rickey Roberts, 61, agreed to the sentence Tuesday after prosecutors said they'd waive the death penalty.

Authorities said Roberts beat George Napoles, 20, to death and then raped a teenage girl next to the Rickenbacker Causeway.
Roberts was initially convicted and sentenced to death in 1985, but years of legal wrangling have kept him from being executed.
